Oh hi there! It’s so good to see you! Welcome to “ Jess Blogmas race” Where Jess posts multiple times in a row to make up for the days of the slump and lost blog posts!
Today I’ll bring you one of the arcs that was given to me a while ago but that I never managed to review for one reason or the other! It’s a sweet and quick read that you won’t mind add to your TBR!

SYNOPSIS

4997e9c02a412e518c438d57511f30e4a9f4a4d1Even Little Miss Grinch, Nikki, a successful and independent woman, must face her bachelorette status at the most horrible time of the year.
December is her personal version of holly-jolly hell: a merry torture made of couples kissing at every corner, forced vacation days, and an inescapable family reunion.
And when her baby sister announces she’s engaged—to Paul, the man Nikki is secretly in love with—and that he’s spending the holidays with them, Christmas starts looking bluer than ever.
Nikki can’t possibly survive an entire week trapped home as the family’s spinster. But she has no time to meet men or to try the newest dating app, she’s too busy working as a video producer for an advertising agency.
So what’s a girl to do?
Nikki has the perfect solution: to hire a fake boyfriend.
Luckily, her job gives her access to an endless catalogue of gorgeous actors to choose from.
But Nikki will soon discover that keeping business and pleasure from mixing isn’t so easy and that she might not be immune to a little mistletoe magic. Especially not when she picked out the perfect man as her Christmas date…

I’m not going to bore you guys telling you what place this kind of books have for me, you know it full well by now how I feel about them and how much I like the cheap thrill of pleasure in an incredibly good-looking man defying all odds, so yeah, I liked this book even if I found it extremely childish, but maybe also because of it!
C’mon, all the hallmark protagonists are saints, martyr or workaholic! It’s nice to have one that, yes, it’s a workaholic but that is also petty and childish! Having negative traits doesn’t necessarily make you a bad character! Nor a badly written one! And I found that the characters in this book and their story does make sense! They make sense! And I liked it a lot!
Listen, the plot is not exactly innovative, I’m sure that you can think to at least one pretty famous movie with a similar arc, but It’s pleasurable nonetheless! You can see them finally grow the hell up and you can see a household filled with love and the problems of people who don’t really have many problems! And that’s not always bad!
So, yeah, maybe not everyone will like this book, it’s simplistic, petty and childish, but maybe a lot of you would like it because of it! An easy read, that doesn’t claim to be nothing more than that and that will keep you company for an afternoon and leave you with a nice smile on your face.

3/5 MISTLETOES STARS!
